Singer-songwriter Katy Cox transports her listeners with radiant vocals and thoughtful lyrics. Her songs draw you in and take you on an emotional journey that explores both the heartache and the joy of living.

Influenced by artists such as Lori McKenna, Shawn Colvin and Patty Griffin, Katy delivers engaging modern folk melodies, with a healthy dose of country and acoustic rock.

Katy started singing and performing as a child, but she was in her 40s and the mother of four young children before she wrote her first song. Once she began, however, songwriting came naturally. In 2015, within a year of picking up a guitar for the first time, Katy released her EP, Like the Sky, as well as two singles: You Save Me Every Day (an ode to her best friend of over 30 years) and Nashville Girl (which tells the story of a hardworking musician at a crossroads in her personal and professional life). She then spent the next few years in and around Chicago playing shows at intimate coffee houses, boisterous outdoor festivals and everywhere in between.

In 2019, Katy released her full-length album, Diamonds on the Inside. Every track has a distinct flavor while still touching on the common themes of friendship, love and longing. Katy takes the listener all the way from a catchy tune about life's simple pleasures to a haunting, almost heartbreaking ballad about the dark side in each of us.

Her exquisite voice is always arresting but, at heart, Katy is a storyteller. She forges a deep connection with her audience because of the authenticity of her lyrics and personality. The experience is something special that keeps you coming back for more.

Katy grew up in the Midwest, but now calls Charlotte, North Carolina home.  She lives there with her husband, four teenaged daughters and a dog named Rocket.
